INTRO
I am presently studying at the University of Tokyo, Japan, and will graduate
with a Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering
this April, 1998. After that, I plan to return back to work in Thailand. I am
interested in computers, networks,
and the IT field. My resume is included below.
EDUCATION
* M.S. Candidate, The University of Tokyo, on target for a March 1998 graduation
in Electronics Engineering. Main course work and interest in communication
engineering. Present equivalent grade point average (GPA): 3.94/4.0.
* Bachelor of Engineering in Information and Communication Engineering, The
University of Tokyo, 1996. Maintained an equivalent GPA of 3.91/4.0 for the
engineering courses takenand 3.77/4.0 for the total 4 years.
* High-school Diploma - Ruamrudee International School, 1991. Graduated with
First Degree Honors.
SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
* Based on grades during undergraduate studies, received recommendation to enter
graduate school at the University of Tokyo. Was ranked unofficially in the top
10 students out of a class of 130+.
* Received the Monbusho Scholarship given by the Japanese government during
April, 1991 until March, 1996. Upon entering graduate school, received an
extension of scholarship for 2 more years until planned graduation in March,
1998.
* Scored in the top 3 percent on the analytical/problem solving abilities
portion of the GRE (Graduate Records Examination). Received a total score of
2160/2400 points.
* Participated in the 1997 IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications,
Computers and Signal Processing held in Victoria, Canada. Presented research
work on "QoS Guarantees for High-speed Variable-length Packet LANs."
* Participated in the 55th Annual Fall Conference of the Information Processing
Society of Japan (IPSJ). Presented work on "Medium Access Control for High-speed
Multimedia LANs."
RESARCH & EXPERIENCE
* Presently doing research work on Medium Access Control (MAC) for high-speed
multimedia LANs, with particular emphasis on fairness schemes and priority
control in counter-rotating dual-ring LANs .
* Interested in the Information Technology (IT) field as well as in computers
and networks in general, such as distributed systems (LANs/MANs) and the
Internet/intranets.
* Fluent in C/C++. Have been using C/C++ since 3rd year undergraduate student. Simulation programs for both undergraduate and graduate research were all written using C/C++. * Very knowledgeable in the UNIX operating system as well as in the WinNT/Win95 operating systems. Was responsible for the maintenance of own computer in the research lab, of which both Linux and WinNT were used. * Knowledgeable in HTML language and the WWW. Use the Internet daily. Also help maintain the homepage for Thai students at the University of Tokyo. * Educational Computer Centre (ECC), The University of Tokyo (Apr, 1996 - present) Part-time job as computer advisor for students. Help solve computer-related problems brought up by students using the university computers, including general usage problems and computer programming problems. * Sony Corporation, Tokyo (Aug, 1995) Summer work experience. Help develop the research environment for further developing the car navigation system (an automatic street-guiding system).
